Yawnnn...

Haiz, in a wink... my one-week break ended and i will be back to my desk tml. There are tonnes of work waiting for my return (thanks to my senior). BRP testing, stationary indent, recon of charges... blah blah... plus daily operations. *sucks* For the next 3 months, i will be slogging... all i can do is to look forward to my next leave--> 6th Oct, if i rem correctly.

Looking back, i could have a better spent break. I was way too occupied with planning, running errands and pushing myself to do tings i doesn't wish to...

One ting worth mentioning was the picnic at Botanic garden with zhen jie on wednesday afternoon. She made a wonderful company... except for the little flare when she tried to broach stuff i wish to put away *sorry*. I am glad she enjoyed herself. =)
July will be a busy month for Teddy and me... lotsa tings to work on... counting down to 4.5 months.

Experienced and Experiencing ... ...

A super lazy sat the week before last... indulging in

ice-cream
tea (and snacks)

and charcoal grill (food is nice but on a steep side)

*sinful* On top of that, i received a "blink" i had been eyeing on. *bleam*

Last weekend was spent on 2 movies.... Hulk --> proudly sponsored by HSBC (nice, i would say) and Kungfu panda --> cute and clumsy fatty panda that fights.

Work has been crazy recently, driving my tolerance level to bottom pit. The appraisal that i need to get it done by fri adds on to my frustration. I am experiencing a "withdrawal sympton" from other human. I prefer to hide in my own comfort zone, shunning all people except close ones. And like a friend of mine clearly pointed out, this is a reaction out of frustration about self. It's nice to be understood.

Do not be offended but i request all insurance agents, contractors, finacial planners... blah blah to shoo off from me unless a meetup is solely for catch-up. I am really disappointed to witness how acquaintances can ring or text after donkey years of MIA just to grab that chance to sell to you. Given an option, i would not put my money with these supercial ppl. My personal time is also too precious to be invested in this way.

One thing that i learnt recently is "It doesn't pay to be helpful". At least it happens 8 out of 10 times.

Enough of the Laze

Opps, this blog has been left dormant for the past month. It's time to hide the laze and do some updates. I wanted to share alot, esp my bbq session with ex-colleaks, flyer and Taiwan experiences... so... here they are.

17th May 08 (Sat)- BBQ Session with Ex-Citibankers

It was more fun that i had expected. We are a bunch who hasn't been gathering for donkeys years and yet when we got together, we were laughing and enjoying like years back while we were still colleaks. The session was especially crazy when we started Indian poker. It was already way past mid night when we decided to pack up and the gathering was ended beautifully with a sweet proposal. Congratulation, soon-to-be Mrs Lim. =) I am sure it was one of the most memorable moments in your life.

24th May 08 (Sat)- Singapore Flyer with Teddy

On this day, Teddy and i finally went for our bands shopping. We got a classic design that we both love. I can't wait to collect them in 2 months time. *anxious* =)

After months of the flyer launched, we decided to hop on and see for ourselves what spectacular view this biggest machine in the world could offer. Yes, indeed... everything was well except for the crowd.

It was my dearest and loveliest zhen jie's bdae. Teddy and I attended her bbq celebration right after the flyer ride and all surprised her with a bdae cakey. I really hope that she has enjoyed herself, for she is my precious. Shall post some pics the moment i got hold of them. It was a very heart warming session as the sisters gathered, updating each other and voluteering their help for my coming wedding.

30th May 08 (Fri) to 3rd June 08 (Tues) - Taiwan Trip

Though this trip was not another half-yearly mini honeymoon (which we do without this year), it provided Teddy and i with some quality time together, giving us a break from all work and wedding plans.

30th May
  • Depart from Changi Airport early in the morning
  • Check-in to Holiday Inn
  • Miramar Shopping Centre (the one with a ferris wheel on the top storey)
  • Shilin Market. We tried the super famous big ji1 pa2, da4 chang2 bao1 xiao3 chang2, orh3 ah1 jian1, mango ice and bitter gourd + honey juice. Following the indulgence, we shopped at the night market despite the rain. Shopping rules!!!

31th May
  • Maoli county (Finally saw the bin1 lang2 meis4 along the way)
  • Tai An hot spring
  • Fruit plantation. The fruits in season are lychee and peach. Teddy went DIY peach plucking while i waited patiently from his "harvest". I never like peach before but i can't help to give a thumb up for the crunchy ones in Taiwan.
  • Taipei Train station- a little time to do some shopping.
  • Taipei 101 =) Amazed by the its fastest lift, how the stucture shifts every few secs to balance itself, it's view and the temperaure at its very top.
  • Wu fen pu, the the fashion wholesale centre. While everyone else headed back to the hotel, the couples flagged cabs down for some shopping. hee.
  • Raohe street night market for some super.

01 st Jun

  • C.K.S Memorial Hall
  • Mao's Pricess House... where the princess inroduced the very costly Lin-zi, royal jelly. Of course i din buy.
  • Tam Sui Fisherman Wharf, Lover Bridge
  • BBQ grill
  • Ximenting

02nd Jun

  • Yehliu
  • Chiu Fen. Teddy and i found a cosy cafe... sipping tea and hot chocolate under the cold weather just by the two of us =)
  • Wu fen pu again to continue my shopping spree.
  • Company dinner at Haibawang Restaurant with some tribal show.
  • We din "sneak" out at night today... The couples stayed in their respective room to do our packings and catch the nice programs on TV.
03rd Jun
  • Free and easy till we depart. The couples did the last shopping in New York New York.

Taiwan is overall a nice place to visit with delicious xiao3 chi1, friendly people and cool fashion. =) Given a chance, i would love to explore beyond Taipei.

*yawn*... it has been a long time since i did such a loooooooooo.............nnnng post. The uploading of the pics really got me impatient. Shall try to blog more frequently to avoid the snowballing impact. Till my next post... *wave goodbye*
