A Brilliant Idea???

I guess everyone must have been alerted on the terroist's escape. Gis and i started a silly discussion about it after a little grumble made as her sweetheart was begin recalled to help in the search. The conversation goes...

Moi: (excited after coming back from restroom) gis, i thot of an idea... maybe can insert a chip in the extremely dangerous convicts like serial murderers and terriosts so that they can always be tracked by the GPS systems.

Gis: But can be removed quite easily leh... Maybe can put in the heart???

Moi: Haha... i also thot abt this but a little impossible leh. Should insert the chip deep enough so that the only way to remove the chip is to chop off the hand. Or maybe the chip can be created as such that when it is removed from the body by force, it will explode.

Gis: (laughing away)... just stuff it in the lungs???

Moi: wad abt wrap the chip with chewy gum and swallow it. (moi must have heard too much horror story abt the gum sticking to the wall of stomach)

It is all meant to be a harmless discussion. Hmm... i guess the inspiration came from a piece of news i saw quite some time ago that talks abot chip implant that transmits personal information.

I definitely do not wish to see the arrival of this day where human and machine are merged. I rather continue to pray for peace. =)

Lau Hei.... Huat ah!!!

I did 7 lau heis in the year of rat, my highest record ever... aye, but still i din win a cent in the hong bao toto that my section pulled together to invest on. As one who detest gambling, i am shocked to find out that a set of 10 numbers cost $105 bucks!!! Alrite, everyone in my section is back to work after dreaming for a week. Hai2 shi4 jiao3 ta4 shi2 di4 bah.

Irregardless of whether the numerous lau hei did help to change my luck, i enjoyed my 5th, 6th and 7th.

5th was with my Teddy... yeap, just the 2 of us. Teddy replaced the fish with clams since i dare not take the former.

6th was a dept lau hei. I was one of the fun club commitees this quarter and am in-charge of organising the new year celebration for the treasury dept. So, we put together a dept lau hei and a high tea buffet.

7th was a section lau hei held on the same day.... yeap, 2 in the day. Very wen1 xing1, i would say. =) I love my colleaks except for ahemmm.... the one i mouthed abt. hee.

Overall, i did enjoy this chinese new year. Teddy helped to give the 15 days a good conclusion with tang1 yuan he prepared. =)

5th Valentine's

I used to ponder about the meaning behind Valentine's celebration. This occassion is getting so commercialized and i can tink of noting except broad smiling businessmen. Well... but an incident struck me. On this very day, my manager left her desk for a while and came back with a bouquet. It was a surprise from her husband. I felt the joy in her and it's this form of appreciation that she received even after marriage and even after becoming a mum-to-be that touched my heart. It dismissed my believe that tings changes for the worse after a lady falls into the "trap" of marriage. I do not mean that big money has to be spent... it's the thought that counts. =)

It was our 5th Valentine's and we agreed to keep the celebration simple. I woke up with a surprise ai xin breakfast delivered early in the morning. =) The effort was a great gift. I also received a brown, ugly yet very lovable gift (put together by Teddy himself)... check it out in the photo.

Made him smting he likes...

My new talking device from... who else =) ... since my Samsung bid farewell to me. It was working perfectly fine until a min after my senior questioned, "Belle, u don't wan to change your hp ah?". Xie2 Men2 isn't it? Initally, i wasn't very please with the phone all bcos of some orange prints on it but i am loving it now. Thank you Teddy for also sourcing the kiki and lala accessory.

Yup, the bank also surprised us with a sweet Valentine's gift... nicely packaged sparkling drink.

CNY!!!

Chinese New Year gives our family an opportunity to foster. The gather always starts on chu2 xi1 ye4 with reunion dinner, followed by bai4 nian2 at ma1 ma4's place on chu1 yi1 and dinner at jie jie's place on chu1 er4.

Chu2 Xi1 Ye4 (6th Feb)

I am not as lucky as most of you who were granted half day off on the eve of cny. Though i have to stick to my official knock off time, i made no grumble with the holiday mood. The reunion dinner was held in a vegetarian restaurant, which serves good food. Lao1 ah lao1 ah!!! Huat ah and may all be blessed with good health and happiness. That marks the start of the festive. =)

Da Nian Chu Yi (7th Feb)

The first person i saw was my fiance and the first ting i munched on was abalone (haha... juz happened that i slept in till 12 plus and it's the only ting lying on the dinning table at that time). I got to indulge in my grandma's once-in-a-year braised egg... still as yummi *slurp*. Teddy, please be reminded that you are supposed to learn how to make them. Like any past years, the cousins headed to chun1 dao4 he2 pan4... it's super duper crowded... hmm, though not a good experience, we managed to take photos with our respective zodiac statues. Together, we catched "Kungfu Dunk"... quite a nice movie than i perceived it to be. Next was supper time at the HK cafe i mouthed abt. Hmm... i would say, food improved with their new menu. :X

Da nian Chu Er (8th Feb)

This year we had Teddy to join us for dinner at jie jie's place. =) and gor gor invited a new member too. We headed to amk for "Ah Long Pte Ltd" after meal. Dear dear was hahaha-ing throughout the movie and nowadaz he love to imitate Li Guo Huang in the scene which he taught the kah1 gia4 the technique to splash paint *silly*. It was still early when the movie ended so Teddy and i headed to Brewerkz for a chill-out session... a nice one ;).

The following photo failed to catch the fact that Huiying and i were sitting on jie jie's laps. haha *squashed* but we were enjoying.

Da Nian Chu San (8th Feb)

It was a Teddy-and-Me-only day =). The first stop of the day was Sentosa Flowers 2008. Personally, i prefer last year's display but aye... the love was somehow stronger in the air this visit =P.

Ding Dong... second stop... Changi Airport T3. I would say it is just like a shopping mall, really da4 kai1 yan3 jie4. We settled in Sakae (that has a new concept) for Teppanyaki and tea. The two were partitioned and the latter has a pretty nice ambience.

Of course that was too early to end the day. We headed to clarke quay to taste the da4 wan3 zhou1 and then vivo to catch "CJ7". A well-spent day indeed. hee...

*Yawn* it's time to take a break after such a long post. will come back with more updates. Tata!

It's time to do some updating after a long self-declared CYN break... =) Shall do it tml after work.

Bottled

There are reasons why a lunch is prefered over the other, there is an urgent need to discuss an impt decision and more thoughts to share but i guessed an invincible barrier grew and left me all bottled. I guess i must have taken some poisoned apples... the answer kept running in my mind whenever a qn is shot but i am speechless. That's suffocating!

Step No. 2

Teddy and i continued our location inspections yesterday and... found one we love!!! We have decided to hold it there and more details shall be worked on from here. =)

I went to queue for Lin Zhi Yuan bah kua again today... diao. I reached home last week with shock when i found out there were only 3 freaking pieces of bah kua in the 200grms pack i bought home. That was super miserable and so explains my return. Luckily the queue was surprisely fast today (approximately 20 mins). Perhaps it's due to the price hike, the quantity limit imposed and the wet weather.

I blogged abt my 3 favorite CYN snacks that complete this festive... and ta da, here they are. =)

Pineapple tarts and Chocolate love letters from Teddy... aye a purple rose from him too. hee.

and priceless bah hu roll by Ma2 Ma4.

Yup, before i end this entry, gotta recommend the dim sum at Hei1 Se4 Hui4 Lao3 Da4 (at Vivo). Nice and fresh=) Though the price is abit steep, can choose to go between 3-5pm (if i can remember correctly) to enjoy 30% off, everyday except Sunday. Aye... but it's xiao3 long2 tang1 bao1 is uncomparable to Ding3 Tai4 Fung1, so not very worth it. That's all folks.
